When should you book in a newborn session?

A lot of parents will leave it till their baby has arrive to book in their newborn photography session but this may be too late. It’s best to book in your session while you are pregnant just after your 20week scan. Newborn photographers get very busy and quite often can’t accommodate last minute bookings.

The best time for Newborn photography is before 2 weeks, this is when they are still very sleepy and love being curled and cosy. If you miss this stage you may not be able to get the newborn baby photos you had wishes for. Saying this every baby is different and I have managed to get some lovely sleepy newborn photos from babies up to 1 month old. Some newborns sleep all the time, some don’t, we cant predict each babies individual personality, which makes them so cute.

Baby photography – India’s session in my London studio

Little India’s Newborn session took place in my Newborn studio and she was a dream to photograph. Her parents chose greys, pinks and purples for her, so then I was able to set up some different backdrops and sets for her photoshoot. I started by photography India on some beautiful textured fluff with a grey wrap and the cutest matching headband.

We moved onto some wooden props that her parents had picked out, I love how cute babies look wrapped up in these bowls.
