Top 10 questions for cake smash photography
1. When should I book in my cake smash session?
Cake smash photoshoots are for your babies 1st birthday a lot of people book them in for the actual date of their babies birthday. If you want to use your cake smash photos for invitations or for decorations on the day of their birthday party its best to book a session in for a date at least 3 weeks prior to their birthday. This will give me time to edit them and for you to choose your final cake smash photos.
2. Can I choose any colour/theme that I want?
Yes this is totally up to you on what colour/theme you choose. I can always help with some ideas and input as well if you are a bit stuck. I love that cake smashes are not always the same, so don’t be afraid to let me know ideas you have! On your booking form with me you will be able to select colours for your theme and describe the theme you would like.
3. How long does the cake smash session last?
My cake smash sessions last one hour. With a 1 year old this is plenty of time as they start to get tired after a while and you want to get the most out of the session that you can.
4. Do you include bath tub photos after smashing the cake?
Most parents like to include bath tub photos as well after smashing the cake. These photos are adorable as well and can be so funny! I bring the bath tub in after cleaning up the cake smash mess. Most of the time the baby loves splashing around in the water and this will liven them up again if there were starting to get a bit tired. I recommend including bath tub photos as they are a great way to finish off the cake smash photoshoot and cleaning off the cake of your little one.
5. Can we include some parent photos?
Yes, I can start off with some family photos before we bring the cake in and get messy. This is also a great way to warm your baby up to the photoshoot and the new surroundings. Then once we have finished these photos we can bring the cake in and start the cake smash fun!
6. What’s included in your cake smash pricing?
Included in my cake smash pricing is the 1 hr session and all the decorations, all you need to do it bring the cake. If you would like me to provide the cake I can do at an extra charge and we can discuss the colour that you would like.
7. How long does it take for us to receive our images?
You will be able to view your edited cake smash photos via a gallery 2 weeks after you session. This is when you can decide which package you would like to purchase. All of the pricing is on my website and there are no hidden costs.
8. Do you provide outfits for my little one?
I have a couple of outfits that you can use but a lot of people also bring their baby in the clothes they would like them to wear to match the theme/colours. I can send you photos of what I have then you can decide what you would like to do.
9. Do we need to pay anything up front?
To secure your cake smash photoshoot with me its a £95 deposit. The deposit is then taken off from the price of the package you choose. You will also need to fill out the booking form so I have all of your information for the photoshoot.
10. Do you have products such as frames we can purchase?
I have lots of beautiful frames and albums that you can display your beautiful photos in. My multi aperture frames are very popular and I can email you over all the information on my products.
