Sitter sessions are the next stage of photography after a newborn photoshoot. I Absolutely love sitter sessions, your baby is developing their own little personality and it will shine through in these photos! Sitter photoshoots are also known as milestone sessions. The main milestone sessions within photography are a newborn session, a sitter session and then a 1 year/cake smash session. Sitter sessions usually take place in my studio where I have all of my cute little props to hand! They can also take place within your home or at a location such as a park. It’s great to include siblings and family photos with in sitter photoshoots as well.
When should I book my sitter photoshoot?
So you are thinking about booking in a sitter photoshoot and want to make sure you book at the right time to get the most out of your photoshoot. Sitter sessions are best photographed when your baby is usually around 6-9 months. These sessions are designed for when your baby can sit up on their own unaided, this way we will be able to get more variety from your photos. What makes these sessions such fun is that your baby is around the stage when they are becoming very smiley, playful and curious, so I usually get great big smiles and fun expressions!
When photographing a 6-9 month old baby I will create a variety of photos using probs and then purely the baby on their own. I love creating a mixture of different photos. During a sitter session babies are usually still just small enough to fit into some cute little props.
Some more information on booking in your photoshoot with me
- It’s a £95 deposit to secure a session. This will be taken off from your chosen package, all of my prices can be found here
- Sitter sessions last about 1 hour. This is plenty of time as at this age you don’t want to over do it and make your little one upset or tired.
- Your edited photos would be ready to view 2 weeks after your session. This is when you can decide on your chosen package you would like to purchase.
- Remember, it’s best to book in your babies sitter session when they are 6-9 months old and sitting on their own 😊
