Why you should take newborn family photos during your session

Why you should take newborn family photos during your session

Don’t miss out on this important time

Newborn photography isn’t just about photographing your new little bundle of joy. It’s about capturing these first weeks together as a family as well. Newborn family photos are so important, those first couple of weeks will fly by. Those sleepless nights, changing nappies and night time feeds, being photographed is probably the last thing on a parents mind, You may feel tired and maybe not up to it. Hopefully this blog will make you change your mind and you will have some photos taken with your newborn baby during their newborn session.

I Capture the newborn family photos at the end of my newborn photography sessions. This will give mum time to do their hair or put some make up on if you wish. I always encourage parents to have some photos taken as it’s a shame if you regret not doing it and you can’t get that time back. If you Don’t like the photos with you in them, you don’t have to purchase them so it won’t make a difference either way.

5 reasons to be in some photos with your baby during their newborn photography session

1. You don’t realise how fast the first two weeks will go past

As soon as you welcome your baby into this world and bring them home from the hospital the days will be a blur and roll into one. You are adjusting to life with a newborn, which can be hard. We don’t want to forget how tiny and cute they were in those first few weeks.

2. It’s not a selfie on your phone

We all take so many photos on our phones these days. It’s great that we can do this but half the time we don’t print them or forget about them. The photos are usually taken from the same angle if they are a selfie on your phone. Having a professional newborn photographer take them for you will give you the chance to just enjoy the moment without your phone in your hand.

3. You can all be in the photos as a family

How often are both parents in the photos with their newborn in the first couple of weeks….. not often! This is such a special time, lets embrace it and photograph your loving family ๐Ÿ™‚

4. These are memories that your new little baby can look back on as well

You might not want to be in the photos but these are also memories for your newborn to look back on as well. When they get older they will be able to see these beautiful photos of their parents cuddling them and see how tiny they were in your arms those first few weeks. Your little boy or girl won’t be looking at the photo thinking mummy’s hair or make up isn’t perfect. They will see that moment caught in time and your love for them!

5. You don’t like having your photos taken or think you are not photogenic

Not everyone likes having their photos taken and I am one of those people, trust me I hate it. I try and make you feel as relaxed as possible during these family photos. We don’t have to do posed photos looking at the camera. I love those natural photos of you smiling and kissing your baby. Looking at your beautiful newborn baby will always bring a smile to your face and that joy and love with show through the photos.
